Colin Burn

Colin Burn was an executive with EMI Records UK for a quarter of a century, starting there during the years following World War 2. Over the course of his career, he worked directly with the likes of the Beatles, the Beach Boys and the Supremes. After ascending to the point of General Manager, Burn left the company in the early ’80s and went to work with the Rolling Stones. Colin Burn was 76 when he passed away on October 19, 2009.
I knew colin when we were both in the boy scouts during the late 40’s and 50’s . We were both in Ralph Readers Gang show. about 1955 he worked for the J. Arthur Rank org, chaperoning contract starlets such as
Petula Clark ,Shirley Eaton, Jill Ireland etc. In the late 50’s he made the change to EMI . I attended his wedding to Jaonna back in 1960.Although I reside in Florida .USA I kept in regular contact with him right up to September 2009
right up to the end.
