Buzz Shearman was the lead singer of popular Canadian hard rock band, Moxy. Forming in 1974, the band released their self-titled debut the following year. It became a quick hit thanks in part to guest guitar play by Tommy Bolin and the strength of its first single, “Can’t You See I’m A Star.” The new-found airplay helped the band land more and more tour dates throughout Canada as well as the US, where they shared the stage with AC/DC, and eventually Black Sabbath, Styx, Rainbow, the Runaways, and Boston. In 1977, Shearman left the band due, in part, to trouble he was having with his vocal chords. He was replased by Mike Reno, who would later front Loverboy. Shearman returned to Moxy in 1979, and when Bon Scott of AC/DC died in 1980, he was strongly considered for the job that ultimately went to Brian Johnson. On June 16, 1983, Buzz Shearman was killed in a motorcycle accident.

Brian Duffy was a respected London-born fashion photographer who made a handful of contributions to the history of popular music as well. He is perhaps best known for his cover shots for three David Bowie albums, the most iconic being Aladdin Sane. Throughout the ’50s and ’60s, Duffy worked with a who’s who of the top fashion models and celebrities, helping to create the “swinging London” ideal of the era. Over the course of his career, he photographed the likes of 
Joe Markowski was a respected drummer who is perhaps best remembered for playing with Twisted Sister for about a year starting in 1981. Markowski was also an in-demand drum teacher who, over the course of his career, tutored the likes of Bobby Rondinelli who played for Black Sabbath and Rainbow, and Joe Franco of Twisted Sister. Joe Markowski was 57 when he passed away on April 14, 2010. Cause of death was not immediately released.
