Mark Sheehan
June 15, 1969 – October 1, 2010

Mark Sheehan was the original bassist and eventual lead singer for Boston area hardcore band, Out Cold.  Formed in 1989,  the band built a sizable regional fan base while releasing numerous albums and singles.  A multi-instrumentalist and occasional producer, Sheehan also collaborated with several other artists over the years, most notably CJ Ramone and the late G.G. Allin.  Mark Sheehan was 41 when he died unexpectedly on October 1, 2010.  Cause of death was not immediately released.

  1. Mark Sheehan was one of the MOST insightful, intelligent, creative, and loving souls I have ever had the good fortune of knowing and I still struggle to accept the idea that he is no longer of this world. He was one of my best and dearest friends. He was my “brother”, my “therapist” my sounding board and my kindred spirit. I still think of him all the time, picture his face, his laugh, his charm, his hysterical sense of humor…I want him back. This is a poem that has helped me to see his death from a different perspective…

Do not stand by my grave and weep, I am not there I do not sleep
I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on snow
I am the sun on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn rain
When you awaken to the morning hush, I am the swift uplifting rush,
of many birds in circled flight, I am the twinkle of starlight
Im there in each new flowers bloom and in the stillness of a quiet room
look for me not with your eyes but with your heart and realize
there is no need for you to cry, I am with you still…I did not die ~
